Thompsonville High School has chosen Maleissa “Max” Baney, Dakota Borchelt and Rachel Sullivan for honors for outstanding academics.
Baney, 18, received high honors and is a member of Spanish club.
The daughter of Alan and Jeanna Baney of Thompsonville, she plans to major in English at Rend Lake College.
Borchelt, 18, received high honors. He is a member of Spanish club, FHA and Scholar Bowl.
The son of James and Sara Harris of Thompsonville, he plans to major in biomedical studies in the U.S. Army National Guard.
Sullivan, 18, is an Illinois State Scholar, serves on State Rep. John Bradley's 2015 Youth Advisory Council, and received high honors and academic excellence in science, history, English and math. She is class treasurer and a member of FHA, yearbook staff, homecoming court, prom committee and Spanish club.
The daughter of Joseph and Taffany Sullivan of Thompsonville, she plans to study nursing at Rend Lake College.
Commencement will be at 7:45 p.m. May 18 in the high school gymnasium. Baccaulaureate will be at 7 p.m. May 18 in Thompsonville First Baptist Church. John Robinson will speak.
