Du Quoin Holiday Lights Fair at the State Fair Grounds will run from Thanksgiving night on Nov. 28 through Dec. 30, at a cost of $10 per vehicle and $1 per person for commercial carriers and tour buses. The trail boasts over three miles of light displays, and during the first three weekends the Exhibition Hall will be open with vendors, music, visits with Santa and holiday displays.

Carbondale Lights Fantastic Parade is set for Dec. 7. The parade, complete with lighted floats, marching bands and Santa in his sleigh, will run its usual route heading north on Illinois Avenue and looping around to head south on Washington Street. The parade begins at 6 p.m.

Harrison Bruce Historical Village will host its yearly Christmas Stroll at the John A. Logan College campus on Sunday, Dec. 8 from 2 to 4 p.m. and offers costumed guides, tours of the buildings in the village, refreshments and music, all with a glimpse into the holiday traditions of the 19th century. The event is free and open to the public.
