Essential oils are growing in popularity, but it's hard to keep track of which oils do what. Here’s a basic guide to get started.
Clary Sage: Used for hot flashes, depression, anxiety, stress, balancing hormones, inflammation, PMS, cramps, infertility and uplifting mood.
Eucalyptus: Treats inflammation of respiratory tract, coughs, asthma, bronchitis, sinus pain, used as an antiseptic, insect repellent. Can also be used as a treatment option for wounds, burns and ulcers.
Frankincense: The universal oil used for skin conditions, headaches, relaxation, depression, anxiety, trauma, wounds, scars and thyroid issues. It can also shorten the life cycle of a cold, build immunity, heal age spots, fight cancer and support brain health.
Helichrysum: Used for scars, scrapes, hemorrhoids, varicose veins, tissue repair, acne, stretch marks, hematomas and liver problems.
Lavender: The calming oil can be used on irritated skin, for muscle tension, headaches and to calm and relax the mind, to reduce stress and to induce restful sleep.
Lemon: The detox oil is used for a sore throat, seasonal discomfort, balancing PH levels, gout, kidney stones and to uplift mood.
Lemongrass: Helps with diarrhea, tendonitis, nerve pain, carpal tunnel, muscle aches, sore ligaments, candida and antiperspirant.
Ginger: Ginger essential oil contains gingerol, which offers anti-inflammatory benefits. It increases thermogenesis, resulting in a boosted metabolism. It relieves nausea, pain, supports joint health and improves mental clarity.
Peppermint: The cooling oil can boost your energy level, improve focus, support healthier digestion, reduce fever and headache, and provide muscle pain relief.
Tea Tree: Helps with acne, dandruff, fungal infections and bacterial infections. Also, relieves chest congestion.
