On Thursday, Feb. 28, advocates in our community gathered at Walker’s Bluff Legends restaurant to raise funds to support awareness, research, education and community programs to benefit women. The Go Red For Women Pursonalities Auction was a fun and educational networking event designed to unite women in the community to spread the message about the importance of women’s heart health and to celebrate and further the efforts of the Go Red For Women campaign.

This event sponsored by Prairie Heart Institute, Walker’s Bluff Winery and Legence Bank benefitted the American Heart Association's Go Red For Women campaign, featured a silent auction of high-end purses filled with unique items to the donor's personality (or "purse-onality!), and a short Go Red For Women program featuring Iva Jones and her daughter, Montana. Iva, a heart disease survivor, shared her story that women need to care for themselves so they can be around to care for their families. Ticket price included heart-healthy appetizers, and a cash bar was also available.
