Union County officials plan to continue discussing the new year's budget at a special meeting at 9 a.m. Thursday.

The meeting will be in the Commissioners' Room at the Union County courthouse, 309 W. Market St. in Jonesboro.

The board plans to discuss early retirement incentives for Union County employees. The County Commission is at work trying to finalize its new budget for the 2018, a $9.7 million spending plan for the new year.
