Criminal charges are pending from a Monday morning single-vehicle accident in which three people were injured.
Investigators said Willie C. Nesby, 33, of Carbondale, was driving a silver 2003 Chrysler Sebring west on Pyatt Cutler road when it exited the roadway and struck a culvert, causing the vehicle to go airborne, according to a news release from the Perry County Sheriff's Office. The vehicle came to rest in a ditch on the southside of Pyatt Cutler Road.
Also in the vehicle with Nesby was 25-year-old Chelse McManus-Davis, of Percy, and her infant son, who both were injured. McManus-Davis was airlifted to Saint Louis University Hospital, and her son and Nesby were driven by ambulance to Pinckneyville Community Hospital.
This accident is still under investigation, and criminal charges are pending, according to the news release from the Perry County Sheriff's Office.
