A Carbondale man violated the terms of his probation and was sentenced to four years in Illinois Department of Corrections on the original attempted burglary charge, which stemmed from a 2014 incident.

According to a news release from Williamson County State's Attorney Brandon Zanotti, Donny L. Ricker, 37, in July of 2014 attempted to break open a coin machine at a car was in Herrin, and was originally sentenced in October of 2014 to probation on a Class 3 felony charge of attempted burglary. 

The release states Ricker has violated his probation by not reporting to his probation officer and refusing to take part in court-requested drug screenings.
