A Carterville man was convicted Tuesday of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, a Class X felony.
Nathan Scott Farrah-Pugh, also known as Nathan King, was tried in Williamson County court on Wednesday, Oct. 31, and Thursday, Nov. 1. The jury delivered its verdict Tuesday.
According to a news release from Williamson County prosecutor Brandon Zanotti, the incidents occurred between 2015 and 2016, when the victim was 6 years old. DNA evidence was offered by the state during the trial.
Zanotti said King, 46, had no prior history of sexual abuse. He is an Australian citizen who was in the U.S. on a visa and was living in Carterville.
He will be sentenced in January; he faces between six and 60 years in prison.
