A Florida man will serve three years in Illinois state prison for writing a bad check at a Casey's General Store in Marion.

According to a news release from Williamson County State's Attorney Brandon Zanotti, Nicholas A. Jones, 37, of Melbourne, Florida, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to a Class 3 felony charge of forgery.

Zanotti said Jones in September of 2017 wrote a false check from a fraudulent account to the Main Street Casey's in Marion. Jones has prior forgery and bad check convictions in Jackson County, according to the release.

Jones will serve a year of mandatory supervised release following his prison term.
