Carbondale Police are searching for information regarding a stabbing Thursday.

According to a news release from the Carbondale Police Department, at 4:07 p.m. Thursday authorities responded to the 700 block of Lewis Lane in reference to a fight that evolved into a stabbing.

When on the scene, they discovered a stabbing victim with injuries that were not life-threatening. The victim was taken to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale for treatment.

Police learned the victim, who is not being named, had been in a dispute with multiple individuals during the time of the stabbing.

According to the release, there is currently no suspect description to provide, but it said the involved parties were not affiliated with Southern Illinois University.
