A Johnston City man received a sentence of about 19 and a half years in federal prison Wednesday after he pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute meth.
According to a news release from U.S. Attorney Stephen D. Weinhoeft, Timothy S. "Timmy" Smith, 41, was sentenced to 235 months in federal prison.
Evidence at the plea hearing showed that from January to September 2018, Smith was involved with other people in distributing methamphetamine in Williamson and Franklin counties. The judge at sentencing found Smith was responsible for distributing 2 kilograms of ice, which is a highly pure form of meth.
