A Marion man is ordered to pay restitution and spend time in an Illinois prison after pleading guilty to wrongfully using a credit card.
On Feb. 15, Garrett S. Owen, 23, pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful use of a credit card, a Class 4 felony, according to a news release from Williamson County State’s Attorney Brandon Zanotti.
Owen was sentenced to two years in the Illinois Department of Corrections and was also ordered to pay restitution.
According to the release, Owen stole the credit card from the victim’s vehicle and later used it without authorization at the Marion Walmart.
In addition to his two years for this crime, the release says Owen is also serving four years in IDOC related to a Saline county conviction for aggravated battery of a police officer.
