A Mount Vernon man was sentenced Monday to serve three years in state prison after he pleaded guilty to a Class 3 felony charge of burglary.

According to a news release from Williamson County State's Attorney Brandon Zanotti, Adam J. Wasik, 36, will also serve one year of mandatory supervised release after he completes his prison term.

The release states that in October 2016, Marion police officers responded to a reported burglary on Holmes Street. Surveillance video from a nearby business led investigators to Wasik, who had been working on a construction project at the Holmes Street address.

The release states Wasik has a criminal history, including offenses in Franklin County and in Missouri.
