The suspect in a Saturday morning shooting that killed one man and left another injured is facing additional charges.
According to a Tuesday news release from Williamson County State's Attorney Brandon Zanotti, Alan B. Conner, 55, of Carterville, is charged with three counts of first-degree murder in the fatal shooting that killed Dustin R. Bean, 38, of Herrin.
Conner also faces two counts of aggravated battery with a firearm, both Class X felonies. He is also charged with one Class X felony count of attempted murder in the shooting of Jody Price, 42, of Cambria. Price remains hospitalized for treatment of his wounds.
Zanotti said police and paramedics responded Saturday morning to the intersection of East Vermont and Walnut streets in Cambria following a 911 call. Authorities discovered both Bean and Price at the location with gunshot wounds. Bean died as a result of his injuries, and Price was taken to the hospital where authorities on Monday said he remained in critical condition.
Conner is being held at Williamson County Jail on a $1 million bond.
