Two men were shot Friday in Harrisburg in an altercation whose origins are not publicly known.

Police encountered one victim, a 32-year-old man, after responding to a report of shots fired in the parking lot behind the Town Square Pub, a bar at 23 E. Poplar St, according to a news release from the Harrisburg Police Department.

The man had been shot once in the abdomen.

Officers learned that a second male victim had been transported, by private vehicle, to Harrisburg Medical Center, also with a gunshot wound to the abdomen, the news release indicated.

Both victims were transferred to hospitals out of state for treatment, via air ambulance.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with pertinent information is asked to call Saline County Central Dispatch at 618-252-8661.
