Some policy changes are coming to the Williamson County Courthouse.

According to a Friday news release from Sheriff Bennie Vick and Presiding Circuit Judge Brad Bleyer, some security policies will change at the courthouse on Nov. 1.

Cellphone and electronic devices will be banned inside the courthouse. The news release defines electronic devices as any device capable of sending or receiving information through a cellular system or wireless internet. Recording devices also will be banned. And, purses and backpacks will no longer be allowed inside.

The policies exempt members of the media, Williamson County Courthouse staff and licensed attorneys who are conducting business in the courthouse.
