Benton Consolidated High School has recognized Zach Dorris, Ethan Krieger, Zeb Leffler, Ember Milby, Lucas Roberts and Macy Sanchez.

Dorris, 18, was selected for outstanding work in academics, leadership and music. He is an Illinois State Scholar and inductee into National Honor Society. He is a member of Scholar Bowl and WYSE teams and the drumline.

The son of Sonya and John Dorris of Benton, he plans to study business administration at Murray State University.

Krieger, 18, was chosen for outstanding work in academics, leadership, service, citizenship, math and athletics. He is an Illinois State Scholar and on Rend Lack College President’s List. He is a member of National Honor Society, cross country team, Student Chamber and Fellowship of Christian Students.

The son of Thala Krieger and John Krieger of Benton, he plans to major in health science at Northern Illinois University.

Leffler, 17, was chosen for academics, leadership, service, citizenship, music, madrigals, student council and Spanish. He is a member of National Honor Society, 2019 Trombonist in the ILMEA All-State Band, 2018 BCHS Madrigal King, four-year member of Murray State University Quad State Band Festival, Southern Illinois River to River Honor Band Festival and MSU Quad State Choir Festival. He is Student Chamber president, National Honor Society co-secretary, Foreign Language Club president, Varsity Scholar Bowl team captain, student council school board representative, Freshman Mentor, band, advanced chorus, WYSE Team and class of 2019 treasurer.

The son of Marty and Alisa Leffler of Benton, he plans to study meteorology at University of Alabama in Huntsville.

Milby, 17, was recognized for academics, leadership, service, citizenship, music, madrigals, yearbook and athletics. She is an Illinois State Scholar, All-Conference in Volleyball and Basketball, All-South Volleyball and Madrigal Queen. She is a member of National Honor Society, yearbook, madrigals, band, musical, volleyball, basketball, track and freshman mentor.

The daughter of Mark and Chrissy Milby of Benton, she plans to study elementary education at Rend Lake College.

Sanchez, 17, was chosen for outstanding work in academics, leadership, service, citizenship, music and athletics. She is an Illinois State Scholar, received Lion's Club Scholastic Achievement Award and Outstanding Band Member Award, was Youth and Government Student Representative in Springfield, and was selected for Quad State Honor Band and River to River Honor Band. She is a member of National Honor Society, student council, Youth and Government, cheerleader, band, Freshman Mentor, jazz band, track, Fellowship of Christian Students, speech team, spring musical, Student Chamber, pep club, SAE Club, Key Club, chorus and Scholar Bowl

The daughter of Deidra and Aron Sanchez of Benton, she plans to major in chemistry at SIUC.

Roberts, 18, was chosen for academics, leadership, service, citizenship, student council and yearbook. He received The Little Egypt District of Student Council Pillar Award and is a member of National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Students, Little Egypt District Student Council, Student Council Executive Treasurer, class officer, yearbook, Pep Club, Student Chamber, Fellowship of Christian Students and Leadership Team.

The son of Chris Roberts and Toni Roberts of Ewing, he plans to study special education at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale or Edwardsville.

Graduation will be at 2 p.m. May 19
