Christopher High School has selected Jason Cole, Ryan Helfrich, Kirsten Jolly, Andrea Miller, Sayler Tasky and Jayla Williams for honors based on academics, leadership and community service.
Cole, 18, is National Honor Society secretary, 2016 regional baseball champions, Scholar Bowl captain, senior class treasurer, on the high honor roll and Graduation Marshall. He is a member of WYSE, Scholar Bowl and the football, basketball, baseball and track and field teams.
The son of Elizabeth and Cory Harbison and Stephen Cole of Mulkeytown, he plans to major in business or pharmacy at SIUE.
Helfrich, 18, is a WYSE Medalist, on the high honor roll, graduation Marshal, Black Diamond Conference All-Conference Football Offensive Lineman and a Football Scholar Athlete. He is a member of the football and track teams, community service club, float committee, National Honor Society and WYSE team.
The son of Greg Helfrich and Holly Helfrich of Mulkeytown, he is undecided about his future plans.
Jolly, 18, is on the high honor roll, football cheerleading team captain, basketball cheerleading team MVP, cheerleading champion at both Turkey Tournament and Holiday Tournament, and earned varsity letters in football and basketball cheerleading. She is a member of NCA All-American Cheerleading Team, National Honor Society, prom court, student council, football and basketball cheerleading teams, All-Star Competitive Cheerleading Team, float committee, community service club, pep club, prom committee, Scholar Bowl Team, Environmental Council and WYSE Team, and assisted junior high cheer coach at practices.
The daughter of Amy and Danny Jolly of Christopher, she plans to study engineering at University of Tennessee Martin.
Miller, 17, is an Illinois State Scholar, class president, National Honors Society and student council president, on the high honor roll, yearbook editor, homecoming queen, Graduation Marshall, 4-H Club president, 4-H Federation vice president, and WYSE Medalist. She was named to the all-tournament teams at Du Quoin volleyball and basketball tournaments, Black Diamond Conference All-Conference in volleyball and basketball and All-South Volleyball Team, and is a scholar athlete in basketball, volleyball and track, and captain of the varsity basketball, volleyball and track teams. She is a member of Illinois Youth Leadership Team, Speaking for Illinois 4-H, community service club, prom and float committees, yearbook staff, recycling club, pep club and Scholar Bowl and WYSE teams.
The daughter of Lisa Gariepy and Mark Miller of Benton, she plans to attend Saint Louis University.
Tasky, 17, is on the high honor roll, a Graduation Marshall and homecoming attendant. She is a member of the prom court, pep club, float committee and prom committee.
The daughter of Shane and Tara Tasky of Mulkeytown, she plans to study psychology at SIUC.
Williams, 18, is on the high honor roll, senior class secretary, National Honors Society vice president, regional basketball champions, homecoming attendant, Graduation Marshall, Volleyball Scholar Athlete and Basketball Scholar Athlete, and received the American history award. She is a member of the volleyball, basketball, softball and track teams, community service club, prom committee, float committee, yearbook staff, student council, recycling club, pep club and drama club.
The daughter of Kathy Esposito of Coello, she plans to major in elementary and secondary education at SIUE.
Graduation will be May 19 in the high school gymnasium.
