Vienna High School has recognized Isabella Brookshier, Justin Casey, Jaelyn Douglas, Jeremy Pietrowski, Jaiden Sanders and Asa Sparks for excellence in academics, leadership and student leadership activities.

Brookshier, 18, is an honor student, Valedictorian, Illinois State Scholar and awarded the Johnson County Academic Achievement, member of Phi Theta Kappa, Vice President of Beta Club and a Junior Marshal. She was in National Beta Club, Youth for Christ, Pep Club, Volleyball, Basketball, Cross Country, Spanish Club, Scholar Bowl, WYSE, Prom Committee and selected to be in Dave Fowler's Youth Advisory Council. She was chosen to participate and complete the CNA program.

She is the daughter of Del and Cheryl Brookshier, and plans to study Kinesiology at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Casey, 17, is an honor student, Valedictorian, Illinois State Scholar, recognized as an Outstanding Student and School Citizen by the Illinois Principal's Association and Junior Marshal. He was involved in Basketball, Track, Cross Country, Beta Club and FFA.

He is the son of Shane and Kristy Casey, and plans to study Engineering at Shawnee Community College.

Douglas, 18, is an honor student, Valedictorian and was awarded the President's Volunteer Service Award in Gold, was an Illinois State Scholar, National Society of High School Scholar, Beta Club Chapter Vice President and Student Council Vice President. She is recognized as an incoming Odyssey Scholar at University of Chicago. She was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, selected to serve on Dave Fowler's Youth Advisory Council, Youth for Christ, National Beta Club, Spanish Club, Student Council, Track, Cheerleading, Scholar Bowl, Cross Country, FFA, Pep/Marching Band, Prom Committee and selected to be a student within the CNA program.

She is the daughter of Jodie and Chad Douglas, and plans to study Neuroscience and Philosophy, Pre-Med at University of Chicago.

Pietrowski, 18, is an honor student and a Valedictorian, Junior Marshal, Illinois State Scholar and has received several academic awards. He participated in Basketball and WYSE.

He is the son of Michael Pietrowski, and plans to study Finance and Accounting at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Sanders, 18, is an honor student, Valedictorian, Illinois State Scholar and was nominated for DAR Good Citizen award. She was recognized as an Outstanding Student and School Citizen by the Illinois Principal's Association, served as Illinois Beta Club President, VHS Beta President and Student Council Co-President and was a Junior Marshal. She has received Outstanding Service Awards in Beta Club. She was involved in Natonal Beta Club, Student Council, Youth for Christ, Pep Club, WYSE, FFA, Spanish Club, Travel Club, Scholar Bowl, Prom Committee, Nursing/HOSA, Softball, Basketball, Volleyball and Cross Country. She was selected to participate in the CNA program.

She is the daughter of Tony and Gayla Sanders, and plans to study Healthcare Management at Shawnee Community College.

Sparks, 18, is an honor student and a Valedictorian, honor student, Illinois State Scholar and Junior Marshal. He was a member of Beta Club, Scholar Bowl and serving in Student Government as Secretary of his class.

He is the son of Scott and Rosa Sparks, and plans to study English/Writing at Southeast Missouri State University.

Graduation will be held at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 17 at Vienna High School.
