Zeigler-Royalton High School has recognized Hanna Absher, Ashley Arvia, Bryce Leeper, Rhane Rohach, Dawson Thomas and Draven Witt for excellence in academics, leadership and student leadership activities.
Absher, 17, is a member of the National Honor Society, Senior Class Treasurer and is graduating with high honors. She participated in Drama Club, Upward Bound, Chorus, Student Council, Math Club, Science Club and Cheerleading.
She is the daughter of Mindy Riley and Brad Absher, and plans to study nursing at Rend Lake College.
Arvia, 18, is an Illinois Girls State Scholar graduating with high honors. She was a part of Drama Club, Golf, Cheerleading and ZR Athletes for Christ.
She is the daughter of Jeremy and Melissa Arvai, and plans to go into the medical field.
Leeper, 18, has honors in WYSE/ACES where he placed third in Physics, Illinois Principals Association Award, TC34 Honor Belt- Basketball, Most Improved-Track and the Vice-President of his class. He was a part of WYSE/ACES, Math Club, HAM Radio Club, Drama Club and SHARP Club.
He is the son of Marsha Issler and Corey Leeper. He plans to study Civil Engineering at Rend Lake College.
Rohach, 17, is an Illini Girls’ State Scholar and in National Honor Society. She is graduating with high honors. She was a part of National Honor Society and a previous member of Math and Science Clubs.
She is the daughter of Brad and Melissa Rohach, and plans to study Biology - Pre Med at University of Southern Indiana.
Thomas, 17, is a member of the National Honor Society and has honors in Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering Academic Challenge. He is an Illinois State Scholar, part of Upward Bound, Drama Club, WYSE/ACES, Science Club, SHARP Club, Math Club, Chorus, Student Council, HAM Radio Club, Art Club and Youth Advisory Council.
He is the son of Jeff Thomas, and plans to study Biology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Witt, 18, is an Illinois State Scholar. He has won the Illinois Principals Association Award and has placed in WYSE/ACES in Math and Physics. He is a member of Student Council, National Honor Society and Math and Science Clubs.
He is the son of Jennifer Stubblefield and Robert Stubblefield, and plans to study Biology at Rend Lake College.
Graduation will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 17 at Zeigler-Royalton High School.
