Local teens took four of the top five finalist spots in Sunday night's Miss Illinois Outstanding Teen 2006 Pageant. Miss Carbondale Outstanding Teen, Colleen Wood, finished as the fourth runner-up. Miss Herrin Outstanding Teen, Courtney McGee, finished as the third runner-up. Miss Metropolis Area Outstanding Teen, Karissa Stepter, took first runner-up and Miss John A. Logan College Outstanding Teen took home the crown. Miss Glen Carbon Outstanding Teen, Tess Boyer rounded out the top five by taking home the second runner-up title.
Hunt wowed the judges with her interviews, singing and signing the lyrics to "The Rose" during the talent competition, her personality in the Casual Wear Competition, physique in the Physical Fitness Competition, elegance in the Evening Wear Competition and insight during her final question. All the contestants were judged on the same six catergories: Interview, 25 percent; talent, 35 precent; onstage question, 5 percent; evening wear 15 percent; physical fitness, 10 percent and Casual Wear 10 percent.
