CARMI — Charles R. “Bob” Hancock, 87, passed away Saturday morning Jan. 5, 2019, in Wabash Christian Village in Carmi.
He was born March 23, 1931, in Carmi, the son of John O. and Ora (Hubele) Hancock.
He married Maxine Browning on Jan. 26, 1951, in Carmi. Bob worked as a Printer for the Federal Government. He owned and operated “Little Deer” Christmas Tree Farm.
He enjoyed woodworking.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Germany. He was an active member of the First Christian Church in Carmi.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine; son, Randy (Lori) Hancock; daughter, Sharon Lynn (Jim) Tabor; grandchildren, Josh (Lindsey) Tabor, Caitlin (Brandon) Delk and Kelsie (Sean) Carey; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Tabor and Molly Carey; and sisters, Janet (Larry) Large and Carol (Joe) Aud.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday Jan. 9, at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi, with Greg Grant and Jim Whetsone officiating. Burial will be in Maple Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
