
CARBONDALE — Charlie L. Murden, 96, passed away Sunday, Aug. 26, 2018, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Charlie was born Sept. 29, 1921, in Ava, the son of the late Charles Leroy and Mary (Vanover) Murden.
He was united in marriage to Mildred “Millie” (Fey) on April 5, 1941, in Perryville, Missouri. They shared over 77 years of marriage.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Millie Murden of Carbondale; daughters, Judy and husband, Louie Cecil, Pat and husband, Gene Bramlet; Penny Murden; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Murden; sister, Alberta Grah; daughter, Carol Wright; and one grandson.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018, at Walker Funeral Home of Carbondale, with Alan Rhein Officiating. Interment will be in Glenn Cemetery in Glenn. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Glenn Cemetery, United Methodist Church of Carbondale or the American Heart Association.
