GOREVILLE — Curtis Howard Casper, 78, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019, at his home in Goreville.
Curtis was born Jan. 31, 1941, in West Frankfort, the son of George Earl and Etoile (Winston) Casper.
He married Jean R. Rogers on Dec. 27, 1963, in Christopher. She preceded him in death Dec. 6, 2018.
Curt was a member of the Church of Christ and attended the Marion Church of Christ.
He enjoyed playing in the John A. Logan Community Band and the S.I. Concert Band.

He served as the Band Director at Goreville for 15 years and later worked at the Southern Illinois Power Cooperative plant until his retirement.
Survivors include son, Marshall and Bethany Casper of Lewisburg, Tennessee; daughter, Beth Harris of Thompsonville; grandchildren, Kennedy Jean Harris and Kameryn Sue Harris of Thompsonville, Curtis Reed and Caitlin Casper of Colorado; great-grandchildren, Emerald Casper and Arkham Casper; brother, Robert and Laura Casper of Florida; sister, Lois Jean and Dale Denny of Anna; and brother-in-law, Don Evans of Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and great-granddaughter, Amethyst Casper.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, in Blue Funeral Home in Goreville, with Bill Brandstatter and Phil Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Busby Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 31, at the funeral home.
