CARBONDALE — Elizabeth Ramsden Eames, of Willow Valley Lakes Dr. Willow Street, Pennsylvania, passed away April 1, 2019.

Born Feb. 18, 1921, in Toronto, Canada, the daughter of the late Francis and Vera Ramsden, Elizabeth was educated at the University of Toronto, receiving BA and MA degrees there, and a degree in philosophy from Bryn Mawr College. She also held a traveling fellowship at the University of London, College of Education.

She and her husband, the late S. Morris Eames, were partners in teaching, research, and in life.

They were proud of their family - enjoying their children, their children's spouses, as well as their grandchildren. They traveled widely, participating in international philosophy meetings and publishing numerous books and articles. They enjoyed the friendship of their many students and colleagues of the universities at which they taught including the University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri; Washington University in St. Louis; and Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.

Elizabeth has continued to be in touch with many former students and friends who all have been a source of support and pleasure during her long life. At Willow Valley Elizabeth enjoyed being involved in discussion groups on topics philosophical and theological, and in paint classes, and in conversation and shared activities with fellow residents.

Elizabeth is survived by her daughter Anne Eames Adamczyk; son-in-law Dave Adamcyk, grandsons, Christopher, and Ryan Adamczyk as well as two great-grandsons, Calvin Lee and Elliott Canon Adamczyk.

Morris's and Elizabeth's son, Ivan Lee Eames (Bud), preceded Elizabeth in death.

The cottage on Lake Muskoka which is now being enjoyed by the fifth generation has been a center of delight and friendship and such an important part of Elizabeth's life.
