MURPHYSBORO — Eva Alberta Sullivan, 81, passed away at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018, in Manor Court of Carbondale.
Eva was born July 31, 1936, in Jackson County, to Clifford "Pete" Elmore and Clara (Robinson) Elmore.
Mrs. Sullivan was a member of the United Methodist Church in Murphysboro.
Eva was a fantastic cook and she also used to decorate cakes. She loved "kids" and to babysit children or what she would call "Grandma sit" them, because she loved them like a grandma would love them! For anniversaries, eulogies, or special events, Eva would write poems for those special occasions, that would reflect the person's life or events.
She was married Nov. 14, 1953, in De Soto, and her husband retired U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Lee N. Sullivan survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Kathryn Lee Long and one granddaughter and her husband, Karen Reneè and Cody Cox, all of Fort Worth, Texas; one niece, Patricia Fulenwider and one nephew, Keith Kupferer, both of Houston.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Alice Marie Kupferer; one nephew Paul Kupferer; and her parents.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 12, in Pettett Funeral Home, with the Rev. Larry Gilbert officiating and burial in Pleasant Grove Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
