CARBONDALE — Ira E. Parrish, 100, died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019, in Carbondale.
He was born Oct. 1, 1918, to Robert and Alice Parrish on their farm near Vergennes.
Ira married Lucille Endres on Oct. 4, 1941, and she preceded him Aug. 8, 2013.
He proudly served his country in WWII in the Navy, serving from 1941 to 1945.
He owned Ira Parrish Construction Company for 50 years. He built many homes in Carbondale and developed Parrish Acres Subdivision for Gordon Parrish.
Ira is survived by two sons, Rodney Parrish (Lora Hurt) and Kent (Sally) Parrish; three grandsons, Mark, Nathan and Ryan; four siblings, Sarah (Max) Doerr; Wiley (Ione) Parrish; Paul (Viola) Parrish and Sharon (Richard) Maynor; nieces, nephews; and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and five siblings, Tom Parrish; Dorothy Davis; Mary Ferguson; Irene Shewmaker and Lula Bell Boulden.
Services are private for Ira E. Parrish in Murdale Gardens of Memory. Crain Pleasant Grove-Murdale Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
