Janet will be fondly remembered by family and friends as an avid reader, a distinguished seamstress and quilter, author, world traveler, amateur archaeologist, business manager, proud patriot and loving mother. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and family on her famous “Great Adventures.”

Born Aug. 6, 1951, in Decatur, eldest daughter of Lloyd and the late M. Jean Andrews (Myers), she was the beloved wife of S. Daniel Coen of Golconda, for more than 48 years; much loved mother of Brenda and Michael George of Springfield, Missouri, Melissa and Daniel LaRose of Illinois, Amy and Guido Schlabitz of Harrisburg, Paul and Maggie Coen of Carbondale, and the late Carolyn Louise Coen of Mesa, Arizona; cherished grandmother of Quinton, Ryan, Sara and the late Mary Elizabeth George, Kirin and Kai Schlabitz, and Emmerson LaRose; great-grandmother of Scarlett and Skylar George; and dearest sister of Sandra Jean and Allen Gookin of Scottsdale, Arizona. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
