METROPOLIS — Mrs. Jeanette Farmer, 92, passed away Friday, March 8, 2019, in Lakes of Paducah Assisted Living Center surrounded by her family.
Jeanette was born Sept. 13, 1926, to Samuel and Laura (Fields) Patton.
She was married to Owen (Steve) Farmer who together owned and operated Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home, Miller Funeral Home and the Brookport Chapel.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and an active member of the Altar Guild.
She is survived by two daughters, Carol (Brad) Belt of Marion; Karen (Victor) Holland of Metropolis; one son, Richard (Kim) Farmer of Metropolis; one daughter-in-law, Sandy Farmer of Metropolis; eight grandchildren; one sister; one brother; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen (Steve) Farmer; son, Steven Farmer; four sisters; one brother and her parents.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 12 in St. Paul's Lutheran church in Metropolis, with the Rev. Tim Bean and the Rev. David Deem officiating. Burial will follow in Massac Memorial Gardens in Metropolis. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 11 in Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home in Metropolis and from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
