FLORIDA — Judy Owen Monroe passed away on Dec. 8th, 2019, peacefully at her home in Longwood, Florida, from complications of Congestive Heart Failure at the age of 72.
Judy was born Judy Ann Lambdin on Mar. 22, 1947, to John and Essie Lambdin in Murphysboro.

She is survived by her Siblings, Charles Lambdin and wife Viola of Anna, and Joan Smith of Republic, Missouri; her Children, Robert Phillip Owen of Winter Park, Florida and Dawn Renee Owen and wife, Camie Rodgers of Radcliff, Kentucky; Grandchildren, Emily Rose Owen of Sanford, North Carolina, Genevieve Renee Owen of Big Lake, Arkansas, Dannye Shaye Owen of Oveido, Florida, Catherine Virginia Owen of Oveido, Florida and Julian Thomas Snyder of Oveido, Florida.
She is preceded in death by her Mother, Essie Jane Lambdin, Father, John Sedric Lambdin, Brother, Leslie Lambdin, Brother, Marvin Lambdin and Sister, Jessie Lee Nolan.
Judy attended Shawnee High School where she played the flute in the band and became the first female drum major at Shawnee. Then she attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale where she studied Architecture. She raised two children, Phillip and Dawn. Later she worked as a Stock Broker in Altamonte Spings, Florida. She was the grandmother of five and enjoyed spending time with them. A memorial is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Feb. 15, at Bald Knob Cross of Peace in Alto Pass. Rev. Steve Pulis will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Judy's life.
