STEELEVILLE — Loren B. Jung fell asleep in Jesus on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019.

He is the beloved husband of Vernice Jung (nee Brelig) of 70 years; dearest father of Nancy (Paul) Smolak, Kathryn (Charles) Kinder and the late James (survived by Ruby) Jung and Thomas (survived by Karen) Jung; dear grandpa of Katie Smolak, Michael, Molly, Matthew Kinder and Stephen Jung; brother of Janet Freeman and the late Grace Ray, Robert, Cletus, Henry Gene Jung and Joyce Johnston; dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend of many.

He began his career with the Shawneetown and Edwardsville School districts as an educator and administrator. He then worked for SIUE, SIUC and University of MO-Columbia. Visitation will be from 9 until service at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, in Immanuel Lutheran Chapel, 11100 Old Halls Ferry, St. Louis. Interment will be in Paradise Cemetery in Steeleville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Chapel or Mobility Worldwide.
