HERRIN — Mary Salina Fox, 94, of Herrin, passed away at 9:50 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2019, at Sunshine Gardens in Marion.
She was born March 2, 1925, in Herrin, to Mike and Angela (Vago) Morani.
She married John B. Salina on Nov. 14, 1953. He preceded her in death on Aug. 13, 1973. She later married Lonnie Fox Sr. on Oct. 23, 1979. He preceded her in death on Oct. 27, 1987.
Mary is survived by a son, John Salina of Logan; a daughter and son-in-law Angela and Paul Restivo of Marion; grandchildren Bryan and spouse Jessica Salina of Benton, Salina and spouse Travis Dunbar, of Marion, Kevin and spouse Ashley Restivo of Imperial, Missouri; great-granddaughter Kennedy Salina of Benton; great-grandson Sawyer Dunbar of Marion; and great-granddaughter Dunbar of Marion to arrive in October; brother and sister-in-law Renald and Josephine Morani of Naples, Florida.
Mary was employed at Herrin Hospital for 30 years, retiring as Director of Admitting. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Schola Choir and Daughters of Mary. Mary was a volunteer at the Herrin Civic Center and the Herrin Hospital Auxiliary.
A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 14, 2019, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin, with Monsignor Ken Schaefer officiating. Inurnment will follow at San Carlo Cemetery in Herrin. A time of visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, June 14, 2019, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin is assisting the family with final arrangements.
