MARION — Phyllis Ann Rath, 77, passed away at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, March 18, 2018, at Kindred Hospital in St. Louis.
Phyllis was born Oct. 19, 1940, in Johnson County to Robert and Dorothy Moake.
Phyllis owned several businesses, including The Southern Café, The Hideaway Lounge and Just One More for several years. She was a member of Elks Ladies Auxiliary and Marion First Church of God. She enjoyed traveling whenever possible and she will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her son, Robert Rath and wife, Lori, of Creal Springs; daughter, Cheryl Hastings and husband, Brian, of Sesser; son, Kevin Rath of Creal Springs; daughter, Lisa Richey of St. Louis; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Tyler Rath; and brother, James Moake.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2018, at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. Pastor Roy Pepmiller will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Cana Cemetery in Goreville. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.
