MARION — Robert “Bob” E. Hope, 82, passed away at 12:35 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019, in Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, surrounded by his family.

He was born March 22, 1937, in Johnston City, the son of James R. and Elsie M. (Williams) Hope.

Robert served in the U.S. Army for three years in Germany.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and a good cowboy movie.

He is survived by his wife, Sallye (Shepherd); daughters, Robin and Scott Moore, Lela and Paul Mocaby, Melody and Cliff Martin, and Melissa and Harold Harrell; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James and Bill; and daughter, Melinda Kay.

There will be no services or visitation.
