JOHNSTON CITY — Theron “Jim” Dwayne Linton, of Johnston City, died Thursday, March 14, 2019, at his family home.
He was born Oct. 3, 1941, in Herrin, to Albert Theron and Wanda Louise Storme Linton.
Jim married Carolyn Killman Linton on Oct. 15, 1962. She survives.
Jim and Carolyn had three children, Lisa Linton, James (Lori) Linton of Johnston City and Nikki (Bill) Blades of Johnston City. Jim is survived by three brothers, Terry (Linda) Linton of Herrin, Mike (Cathy) Linton of Johnston City, and Joe (Jolyn) Linton of West Frankfort. Jim had seven grandchildren, Bridget (Jim) Jarvis, Brittany (Lee) Kelley, Briana Hampton, Laci (Blake) Keffer, Shelbi Linton, Audri Linton and Alec Blades. He had eight great-grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Lisa; and a sister-in-law, Jolyn Linton.
Jim was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from the Williamson County Highway Department.
He loved the Miami Dolphins and his dog, Alvin.
Pastor Donny Coulson will be officiating graveside services at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 16 in Herrin City Cemetery.
Murman and Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City is in charge of the arrangements.
