One person died after a motorcycle collided with a car Thursday according to Jackson County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded to the crash at about 3:36 p.m. and determined a white 2002 Ford Ranger was southbound on U.S. 51, then slowed to negotiate a turn into a private driveway. At the time, a silver 2001 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling southbound on U.S. 51 and failed to yield to the Ford. The motorcycle collided with the back of the vehicle.
The driver of the Ford appeared uninjured and refused medical treatment. The motorcycle driver suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Jackson County Sheriff's Office was assisted by Dowell Police Department, De Soto Police Department, Jackson County Ambulance Service and Elkville Fire Department. A traffic crash reconstructionist with Jackson County Sheriff's Office has been assigned to the case.
