ZEIGLER — Arley Aratus Cash, 80, passed away at 3:42 p.m. Monday, April 15, 2019, at his home with his family at his side.
Arley was born April 22, 1938, in Du Quoin to Floyd and Lillie (Meadows) Cash.
He married Doris June Flowers on Oct. 22, 1955, in Corinth, Mississippi. She survives in Zeigler.
Other survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and John Dent of West Frankfort, Elly and Wendell Ellis of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Arley Cash II of Nason and Lester and Fay Cash of Mulkeytown; six grandchildren, Joni, Amanda, Adam, Jacob, Chad and Ashley; five great-grandchildren, Bailey, Nathaniel, Jackson, Levi and Emmali; a brother, Floyd Cash of Sesser; three sisters, Rosalie Henson of West Frankfort, Bernice Johnson of Christopher, and Lula Belle Boswell of Mulkeytown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
His parents; a brother, Leroy Cash and a sister, Wanda Andrews preceded him in death.
Mr. Cash was a retired coal miner, a member of the UMWA Local Union who retired when in 1982.
After his retirement Arley operated a lawn mower repair shop at his home.
He enjoyed bowling and had two 300 games.
Services for Mr. Cash will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 19, in Vantrease Funeral Home in Zeigler, with Pastor Lori Van Horn officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. Private family interment will be at a later date in Zeigler Cemetery.
