JOHNSTON CITY — Charles “Bud” Brymer, 84, passed away peacefully at 7:50 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019, in Century Assisted Living in Carbondale.
Bud was born Sept. 27, 1934, in Johnston City, to Otis and Nellie (Litton) Brymer.
He married Freida Jane Willis on March 30, 1956, in Johnston City. Freida preceded him in death on Sept. 5, 2009. Together they shared 53 years of marriage.
Bud was retired having been an real estate agent and an insurance salesman for many years. He owned and operated Brymer Real Estate in Johnston City for many years.
He was a 1954 graduate of Johnston City High School. Bud was an avid Johnston City Indians Fan. He volunteered his time, working on the “chain gang” for the high school football program for more than 50 years. He was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He also participated in the Senior Olympics before his health began to fail.
Bud was of the Christian faith.
He especially loved to spend time with his family whom he was devoted to.
Bud is survived by his three children, Rebecca (Philip) Borgmiller of Carterville, Debbie (Tim) Stuck of Chandler, Arizona, and Todd (Jennifer) Brymer of Montclair, Virginia; five grandchildren, Eric Borgsmiller of Winter Garden, Florida, Erin Brymer of Landstuhl, Germany, Christian Brymer of Camp Pendelton, California, and John and James Brymer of Montclair, Virginia; brother, Larry (Marjorie) Brymer of Anna; two sisters, Sandra DeBord of Selma, Indiana, and Marsha (Gary) McNeill of Huntsville, Alabama; brother-in-law, Bob (Jeannie) Willis of West Frankfort; sister-in-law, Margaret Willis of West Frankfort; two uncles, Clyde Brymer and Kip Litton of Johnston City; and an aunt, Juanita Spears of West Frankfort. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Otis Brymer; and a sister, Claydene Beeks.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, in Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City, with the Rev. David Mishler officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on today at the funeral home.
