ANNA — W. Jane Verble, nee Boyd, 90, passed away in Fishers, Indiana, on Sept. 4, 2019.
Jane was the daughter of the late Robert L. and Hattie M. Edwards Boyd, born in Anna in 1928.
Four brothers, Leon, Raymond, Jim, and an infant brother; and one sister, Lucille, all preceded her in death.
She attended Anna-Jonesboro High School, graduating in 1947.
Jane was the beloved wife of the late Carl E. Verble, who she married in 1948.
Jane and Carl moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, in 1955. Prior to founding North American Roofing Systems, they engaged in commercial and residential real estate development. Together, they operated the company successfully until their retirement.
Throughout her life, Jane enjoyed ballroom dancing, playing tennis, tending to her rose garden, and spending time with her family.
Jane and Carl had three children who survive including, Michael (Kathy) Verble, Patrick Verble, and Jane Kay (Bill) Thomas. Some of Jane's six grandchildren called her Mamaw (Brian Verble, Todd Verble and Katy Zarnoch); and others called her Nana (Patrick (Pam) Thomas, Kristen Thomas and Janie K. Thomas). All loved her dearly. Jane also had five great- grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, at Crown Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, 700 38th St., Indianapolis, IN 46208. It is asked that those attending meet at the Funeral Home.
