CHICAGO — Two Chicago men have been charged in the shooting death of a 17-year-old boy outside a gym after a high school basketball game.

Police say 32-year-old Michael McNabb and 29-year-old Stephen Gilbert were charged Friday with first-degree murder. They were ordered held without bond Saturday.

Morgan Park High School student Tyrone Lawson II was shot multiple times outside a gym at Chicago State University and died late Wednesday at Advocate Christ Medical Center.

The Chicago Sun-Times (http://bit.ly/WdqI3C ) reports that a fight had broken out between several players at the end of a game between Morgan Park and Simeon Career Academy.

Lawson's mother, Pam Wright, has said she thought her son would be safe at the game because the school's gym was considered neutral ground for rival gangs.
