The sun shines through cattails along the shore of Kinkaid Lake last year.

The 15th annual Kinkaid Lake Cleanup will take place from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 24, at the Mount Joy Boat Ramp, next to the marina.

Volunteers, along with boats and donations, are needed for the event. Trash bags will be provided. There is also a free lunch provided by Modern Woodmen at the marina for all volunteers.

The event is sponsored by the Kinkaid Lake Marina, Shawnee Muskie Hunters, ILDNR, Kinkaid Area Watershed Project, Kinkaid-Reed's Creek Conservancy District, Home Dept and Rural King.
