Two West Coast residents were arrested Monday after more than 300 pounds of marijuana and related items were discovered during a traffic stop on Interstate 72 near Jacksonville, Illinois State Police said Friday.
Jessica A. Bennett, 43, of Seal Rock, Oregon, and William E. Irons, 59, of Everett, Washington, were arrested on possible charges of possession, manufacture/delivery and trafficking more than 5,000 grams of cannabis.
The traffic stop was conducted by a state police trooper. Authorities seized about 313 of medical grade marijuana, 900 marijuana vaping cartridges, marijuana butter and two vehicles. The estimated value of the seized narcotics is $662,000, police said.
