China objects to 'provocation' as Taiwan president heads to US

Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen left for the United States on Wednesday, a stop on her way to firm up ties with some of the self-ruled island's few remaining diplomatic allies in Central America. But her transit through the US has upset China, which claims Taiwan as part of its territory, calling it a "provocation".
