A-J edges Herrin

HERRIN - Cody Livesay provided the offense with a two-run triple and Tyler Vaughn made it stand up with a three-hitter on the mound, leading Anna-Jonesboro to a 2-1 win over Herrin on Tuesday at Herrin City Park.

Vaughn struck out six in the complete game victory, improving to 2-0 on the season. The freshman retired seven batters in a row at two different points of the game and struck out three of the final seven batters he faced to preserve the win for the Wildcats (5-2).
