CARBONDALE — The SIU men's basketball program announced the 2019-20 schedule today.

San Francisco, which won 20 games last year, comes to Banterra Center on Nov. 16 for the Charles Helleny Tip-Off Classic. The Salukis also host North Carolina Central, which has gone to three straight NCAA Tournaments, and Norfolk State, which won the MEAC regular season title last year and beat Alabama in the NIT. SIU closes non-conference play with home games against Hampton (Dec. 18) and Southeast Missouri State (Dec. 21).

SIU opens the Bryan Mullins era with an exhibition game against Minnesota State Oct. 22. The regular season opener is Nov. 5 against NAIA program Illinois Wesleyan, a non-Division I opponent. The Salukis then play three games in three days at the Sunshine Slam in Kissimmee, Florida, against UTSA (Nov. 8), Delaware (Nov. 9), and Oakland (Nov. 10).

SIU plays two other teams that made the NCAA Tournament last year, both on the road. The Salukis travel to Murray State (Nov. 19) and Saint Louis (Dec. 1). The Salukis also travel to Southern Mississippi (Dec. 7), which finished second in Conference USA, and SEC-foe Missouri on Dec. 15.
