CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The Saluki cross country team capped off the Missouri Valley Conference season in Cedar Falls, with the women's team earning a seventh-place finish while the men placed eighth.

Alsip native Josh Maier capped off a fantastic sophomore campaign by finishing 13th at the conference meet with a time of 25:17.4, earning all-conference honorable mention honors.

Junior Jonathon Vara was the next highest-placing for the men's side, crossing the finish line 32nd overall with a time of 26:24.8.

The women's team placed four runners in the top-50, with Junior Natalia Hajduk leading the way finishing 31st with a time of 18:43.4. Freshman Olivia Murphy crossed the finish line three seconds later, coming in at 32nd at 18:46.2.

Junior Shannon Effron placed 36th at 18:54.8 while newcomer Kelly O'Shea capped off her first season as a Saluki finishing 44th with a time of 19:18.3.
