CARBONDALE — The SIU softball program is taking reservations for its summer pitching academy, to take place June 11 through Aug. 13.

The pitching academy is open to seventh through 12th graders and will consist of eight once-a-week sessions. Two time slots will be offered, with the first running from 5-6 p.m., followed by a second session from 6-7 p.m.

There is a limit of 4-6 participants per session, so it is imperative that interested attendees act quickly to ensure a spot. Assistant coach Kenzi Tate will lead each session and questions are to be directed to her by email at kenzi.tate@siu.edu.

Prospective attendees may email Coach Tate to reserve a spot, but payment must be made immediately to keep that spot or it will be released to the next name on the list.

• Elite Camps (Sept. 23, pitching 10-11:30 a.m., $40; hitting 1-3:30 p.m., $60)

Registration is also open for the Saluki softball program's annual elite camps that will be held on Sept. 23 at Charlotte West Stadium.

The pitching section of the elite camp will run from 10-11:30 a.m. and is open to grades seven through 12. Cost of attendance is $40 and registration is capped at a maximum of 20 attendees. The hitting session follows from 1-3:30 p.m. and is also open to grades seven through 12. Cost of attendance is $60 and registration is capped at 30 participants.

Men's Basketball Camp

• Individual Camp (June 17-20, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., $225 one camper, $195 each for two or more)

Individual Camp is designed to give the campers a chance to improve fundamental skills in the following areas: ball handling, passing, shooting, moving without the ball, and defense. Campers will benefit from learning in a competitive and positive atmosphere. Skills and drills will be taught by Saluki coaching staff and players.

Our camp goal is to help each camper improve their fundamental skills, basketball knowledge, and overall love for the game. Our camp is directed towards developing self-confidence, teamwork, and positive attitudes. Individual attention is given to all aspects of the game. The camp is for boys in first through eighth grade. The cost is $225 for one camper and $195 each for two or more campers. Lunch will be provided daily.

After you purchase your camp ticket, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to medical release forms that must be completed and submitted to Kenneth Moses at kenneth.moses@siu.edu.

Football Camps

• Elite Camp (June 14, 1-4 p.m., $45)

The camp will run from 1-4 p.m. at Saluki Stadium. Registration check-in will begin at 12:30 p.m.

The Saluki Elite Camp is open to all campers entering ninth through 12th grades in the fall of 2019. Campers are expected to bring their own cleats and workout clothes. This is a 1/2 padded contact camp for OL/DL participants. OL/DL campers are required to bring shoulder pads, helmet, practice jersey, and mouthguard. All QBs should bring their own football. Skill position workouts will be non-padded.

Please complete the registration form online and send camp payment of $45 by June 14. Walk–up registrations will be accepted at a cost of $45. Please bring copy of your most recent physical with a doctor's signature.

• Middle School Camp (June 19, 6-8 p.m., $35)

Campers will develop football skills including passing, catching, tackling and blocking and will participate in various passing and agility games. No equipment will be needed. The camp will run from 6-8 p.m. at Saluki Stadium on the SIU campus. Registration will open at 5:30 p.m.

Campers must fill out the registration form and send camp payment of $35, or complete the registration process online by June 19. Please bring copy of your most recent physical with a doctor's signature. Walk–up registrations will be accepted at a cost of $35.

• Big Dawg Camp (OL/DL, July 13, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., $30)

• 7-on-7 Passing Camp (July 13, 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m., $250)

The Big Dawg OL/DL Camp is scheduled in conjunction with the 7-on-7 passing camp. The Big Dawg camp provides drill instruction and technique work for both lines. This camp is offered for all students entering ninth through 12th grade. This is a half-padded camp. Campers are expected to provide their own helmets, shoulder pads, cleats and mouth piece.

The day will provide sessions of run blocking and pass blocking for the offensive lineman. Defensive campers will learn how to rush the passer and defeat run blocks. Check-in will be from 9-9:45 a.m. Please bring a copy of your most recent physical with a doctor's signature. In order to guarantee a camp T-Shirt, please submit your $30 registration fee by July 3.

Campers at the 7-on-7 tournament will get an opportunity to apply the skill of route running, pass catching and throwing in a team atmosphere with guided instruction. Each team will be guaranteed four games.

Participants will need to bring football cleats, matching jerseys, helmets & mouthguards. The camp is open to all athletes entering grades nine through 12.

The tournament field will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis with July 3 as the registration deadline. Each team is required to submit a $50 non-refundable deposit with the entry form. After July 3, all registrations will need to pay the full entry fee. Team registration is required by coach. The cost of the camp is $250 per team, or $375 for two teams from the same school. The fee does not include meals or lodging. Teams may have a maximum of 18 players and must be accompanied by a coach. Each additional player over the 18 will cost an extra $15.

Each participant must have a signed medical waiver in order to participate. Please bring copy of your most recent physical with a doctor's signature.

• Saluki Elite Camp (July 17, 1-4 p.m., $45)

The Saluki Elite Camp is open to all campers entering ninth through 12th grades in the fall of 2019. Campers are expected to bring their own cleats and workout clothes. This is a 1/2-padded contact camp for offensive and defensive lineman participants, who must bring their shoulder pads, helmet, practice jersey, and mouthguard. All quarterbacks should bring their own football. Skill position workouts will be non-padded.

Please complete the registration form and send camp payment of $45 or complete the registration online by July 17. Walk–up registrations will be accepted. Please bring copy of your most recent physical with a doctor's signature.

Track and Field Camp

• Sprints, Hurdles and Jumps (July 12 8 a.m.-noon, July 13 2-6 p.m., $75)

Join the SIU track and field coaches and student-athletes at the Lew Hartzog Track and Field Complex for a two-day summer camp for sprinters, hurdlers and jumpers.

Campers entering sixth through 12th grade will learn via group and individual instruction, demonstration, and discussion topics on training techniques, race strategy and nutrition. This camp will be a great opportunity to learn from some of the best in the Missouri Valley Conference. Campers can work with one or multiple event groups during camp.

Volleyball Camps

• Setter/Attacker Camp (July 22, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., $85)

Setter/Attacker Camp is designed to help train fifth through 12th grade players that would like to advance or begin their skill in the setting and attacking positions. Proper court shoes and knee pads are required. All of SIU's volleyball camps take place at Davies Gym. Parents can register online at siusalukis.com.

• Future Saluki Camp (July 23-24, $270 overnight camper, $225 commuter camper)

Future Saluki Camp gives players that have an interest in becoming a member of the Saluki Volleyball program the opportunity to have hands-on experience with the SIU coaching staff and players. This camp will incorporate training at the highest level for fifth grade and older students. Proper court shoes and knee pads are recommended.

Cost is $270 for overnight campers and $225 for commuter campers. If you are an overnight camper you will need to bring your own bed linens and toiletries.

• All-Skills Camp (July 23-24, $270 overnight camper, $225 commuter camper)

All-Skills Camp is designed for fifth through 12th graders that are wanting more time in the gym with hands-on training from the Saluki coaching staff and players. This camp will focus on teaching the proper fundamentals and technique to ensure a complete and all-around type of game for each player. If you are an overnight camper you will need to bring your own bed linens and toiletries.

• Libero Camp (July 25, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., $85)

Libero Camp will be an intense day of training and learning for fifth through 12th-grade players that are wanting to better their skills in the back row. This camp is not only intended for liberos but for any player that would like to better their ball control and platform skills. Proper court shoes and knee pads are recommended.

• Team Camp (July 26-28, $230 overnight camper, $130 commuter camper)

Team Camp will be coordinated by Saluki head coach Ed Allen. The camp will offer not only an opportunity for your team to play but also for them to be worked with and trained by the SIU coaching staff. There will be drill instruction as well. If you are an overnight camper, you will need to bring your own bed linens and toiletries.

Instruction will focus on team activities, offensive and defensive systems and the camp tournament. Coaches can reserve a spot by contacting Tristan Johnson at tristan.johnson@siu.edu or by calling 618-453-5476.
