Hamilton County and Eldorado took top honors in the Mount Carmel Class A golf regional Wednesday.

Kylee Vaughan, a freshman at Hamilton County, earned medalist honors with a 75. Vaughan finished 13 strokes ahead of Mount Carmel's Allyson Armstrong.

In addition to Vaughan's 75, Lauren Ward shot 92, Jaylee Glenn 95 and Bailey Stricklin 106 for a team score of 368. The Foxes finished 13 strokes ahead of second place Eldorado. And, Eldorado had a comfortable 15-stroke cushion over third place Mount Carmel.

Scoring for Eldorado were Keeley Tate 91, Derian Corn 95, Ashlyn Sizemore 96 and Emma Wargel 99.

Also advancing to sectional competition as individuals are Gabby Adams, Harrisburg, 95; Elizabeth Eastham, Waltonville, 97; Allie Gee, Carmi, 98; Lily Redman, Carmi, 100; Lexi Sligar, Centralia, 100; and Alli Ferrell, Harrisburg, 101.

In the meantime, Nashville won its second straight regional title with a team score of 320 at the Acorns in Waterloo. Nashville cruised to victory as second place Althoff came in at 343.

Rachael Kell paced the Hornets with a 76. Jordan Stiegman shot an 80 while Hope Rueter and Brooke Bartling each shot 92.

The only are player to advance as an individual was Okawville's Chloe Kraus with a 93.

The Class A girls sectional is Monday at Alton's Spencer T. Olin Golf Course.

In AA action, Olivia Gray and Chloe Thomas of Marion both carded 95 at the O'Fallon regional Wednesday to qualify for sectionals as individuals. They will play at the Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin sectional Monday at Panther Creek.
