Overnight rain washed out most of the IHSA postseason schedule in baseball and softball Wednesday, requiring games to be rescheduled.
In Class 1A baseball, the Gallatin County regional game between the host Hawks and Hardin County will be played Thursday at 4:30 p.m. The Shawnee Regional contest between the host and Cobden was rescheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday, with the game between Steeleville and Elverado pushed back to 5 p.m.
In Class 1A softball, the Elverado Regional contest between Crab Orchard and NCOE will be played at 3:30 p.m. Thursday. Both games in the Dongola Regional were pushed back to Thursday, with Pope County and Egyptian starting at 4:30 followed by the Dongola-Cobden matchup at 6:30.
The Carmi-White County Regional in Class 2A baseball was rescheduled for Thursday. Johnston City-Thompsonville will play Mount Carmel at 4, followed by the Fairfield-Edwards County clash at 6:30.
In 2A softball, the Nashville Regional contest with the host Hornettes and Waltonville-Sesser-Valier will be played at 3:30 p.m. Thursday. Carmi-White County and Edwards County will meet in the Hamilton County Regional at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, and the Trico Regional semifinal between the host Pioneers and Red Bud will take place at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
Also, the Goreville Regional final in 1A softball between the host Blackcats and Shawnee has been bumped up from Friday to Thursday with a 4:30 p.m. start.
