Try 1 month for 99¢

Trevor McKinney and Dailus Richardson of Benton High School were named Bass Fishing All-Americans by Bassmaster. The award was announced Friday.

Only 12 anglers nationwide receive the honor.

Richardson and McKinney qualified for the IHSA state fishing tournament last year, placing seventh. They failed to advance this year.

McKinney has five wins in the past 12 months, including the Bassmaster State qualifier. He placed second in the Bass Federation State championship. He is also Benton's valedictorian.

Like McKinney, Richardson also have five tournament wins this year. He earned a spot on the B.A.S.S. Nation Northern Divisional team, representing the State of Illinois. Richardson finished fourth overall in that event, first in the prep division.
